Hello🖐️ Today I’m sharing my review of DaLa Spa in Kuta, Bali, which is located inside the Alaya Dedown Hotel in Kuta, and I booked the spa when I booked the hotel. You don’t have to stay at the hotel to book the spa, so if you’re looking for a luxurious and highly skilled massage spa in Kuta, you might want to take a closer look at this post : )
About DaLa Spa in Kuta, Bali
Alaya Dedown Kuta was the first hotel we stayed at when we arrived in Bali. It’s a cozy and private property just a short drive inland from the hustle and bustle of Kuta city center, and you’ll be dropped off right at the entrance by Grab.
The hotel consists of only 12 private pool villas, so there aren’t a lot of facilities, but the building directly in front of you from the entrance is the reception, and the building directly behind it houses the DaLa Spa. DaLa Spa means Leaf in ancient Sanskrit, and is said to symbolize the cycle of nature and human vitality. The spa is also characterized by the use of safe, pure, natural ingredients that are even edible👍👍👍.
After relaxing in my pool villa, I arrived at the spa at the appointed time. I was immediately shown to my seat and offered a welcome tea and wet towel, which was so nice to wipe my hands with the cool, herbal floral scent on a hot day👍👍.
The scent of the oil is also very important when getting a massage! They have 5 different types of oils and you can smell them all and choose the one that suits your taste. Each oil has a different scent, so it was fun to choose : )
Next, you’ll be asked to fill out a pre-massage health check and a questionnaire about your personal preferences. You’ll be asked to fill out this questionnaire at every spa you go to, but it varies from place to place. Typically, you’ll be asked to detail any allergies you have, any medical conditions, and any areas you prefer or dislike. This one had a section for choosing what music to play, which was thoughtful and nice 👍.
DaLa Spa Massage Review in Kuta, Bali
Depending on the spa program, we had a foot massage first, which started with a friendly explanation of what to expect. Usually the foot massage before the massage is done in a simple chair in the spa room, not in a dedicated area, but here it is done in a dedicated area for foot massage, so the chair was quite comfortable and nice👍.
After your foot massage, you’ll be taken to the spa room, which I loved because it’s dimly lit and cozy, with aromatic oils and a relaxing and healing atmosphere👍 Here, you’ll undress inside the spa room while the staff is outside (I recommend removing all jewelry) and put on disposable underwear and a sarong, and when you’re ready, you’ll knock on the door and the staff will come in and start your massage. There are also private showers and restrooms in the spa room, so you can take a quick shower before your treatment.

We had a foot massage for 30 minutes and a full body massage program for 2 hours. I was worried that it would be boring because it was so long, but the therapists were really good at what they do, so I was able to relax and sleep well👍 At the beginning of the massage, they check the intensity of the “pressure” and if you want a stronger feeling, you can ask them to do it a little harder. My legs were very tired, so I asked her to concentrate on my legs, and they felt so much better afterwards.
After the 2.5 hours of massage, I checked out the other spa rooms, each of which is named after a different exotic flower and decorated with different interior themes and colors. Each room has a different atmosphere, so you can choose the one you like best👍 For honeymooners and couples, they also offer custom settings such as flower beds and romantic candlelight : )
After my massage, I was offered hot ginger tea and cookies to help me relax. The icing on the cake, right?
