Hello🖐️ Today I’d like to introduce you to Legian Beach in Kuta, one of Bali’s most famous sunset and sunset spots. As my first accommodation was in Kuta, I stumbled upon it while making a reservation at a nearby restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised to see such an amazing sunset, even though it was the rainy season. The atmosphere is very different from other places I’ve visited since, such as Seminyak Beach, but if you’re traveling to the Kuta area of Bali, it’s definitely worth checking out during sunset.
Legian Beach sunset
We had dinner reservations at SKAI Bar & Grill inside Padma Resort for 7pm on our first night, and it was about a 20 minute walk from the hotel, so we walked around to see the sights. The sidewalks were too narrow and poorly maintained to walk for a long time, so we mostly used Grab for short distances after that.
As we walked, we could see the bright light of the sunset as we got closer to the beach, and this path was so pretty👍👍 I think this kind of scenery can only be seen when traveling on foot.
Follow the light to the beach and you will see the letters and sculptures that say Pantai Legian (Legian Beach). Pantai is Indonesian for beach. The sculpture appears to depict the waves of the ocean and a traditional Balinese dancer dancing on top of them. Legian Beach is famous for its sunsets and surfing, which is probably why it has a sculpture like this.
The long stretch of coastline and beaches that connects Kuta Beach to Legian and Seminyak Beach is absolutely stunning👍 On this particular day, the waves were moderate and the sunset was beautiful, so you could see a lot of people relaxing on sunbeds or beanbags and enjoying the beach. It’s less crowded than Kuta Beach, but still has a lively atmosphere and there are plenty of beach clubs, bars, and restaurants along the beach, so it’s a great place to grab a drink with a great view.
It’s hard to capture the emotion of what I saw in person in a photo 🙂 It was one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen, with the water having receded somewhat and the sunset reflected on it so beautifully 👍 When I visited, it was early March, which is the rainy season in Bali, so it’s hard to see sunsets like this. I was looking forward to seeing another sunset like the one I saw that day, but the weather was not favorable during the rest of my trip, so I didn’t see anything quite like it.
The beaches from Kuta to Seminyak are very long, so I saw a lot of people walking, running, and walking their dogs along the beach. It was so peaceful and I couldn’t help but stare at it : )
Wrapping up
Today, I introduced you to Legian Beach as a place to visit in Bali. The beach that stretches from Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak is a must-visit for anyone visiting Bali. The waves are great for surfing, the sunsets are gorgeous in the evening, and it’s a great place to go for a walk or run👍 It’s also a great place to unwind with a drink or alcoholic beverage at one of the restaurants or bars along the beach, so if you’re traveling to the Kuta area, make sure to visit Legian Beach at sunset to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
