Jannata Resort & Spa Ubud Review: A Perfect Bali Pool Villa with Jungle Views

My Honest Review of Jannata Resort & Spa, Ubud

Ubud, Bali, is renowned for its exotic, jungle-filled landscapes, and it truly lives up to the hype. For our latest trip to Bali, we decided to spend a full four nights in Ubud. Considering the travel time involved, anything shorter would have felt rushed, but four nights was the perfect duration to truly soak it all in. Our home base was a pool villa at the Jannata Resort, a place I can’t recommend highly enough. It’s conveniently close to the main town, offers incredible facilities, and fully immerses you in that quintessential jungle ambiance. : )

A Closer Look at Jannata Resort & Spa, Ubud

We arrived at Jannata Resort & Spa via a Grab taxi and were able to check in immediately. The staff greeted us with such genuine warmth, and we were instantly impressed by the interior and decor, which perfectly captured the spirit of Ubud.

Amateras Restaurant

Adjacent to the front desk, you’ll find the Amateras Restaurant. Here, you can enjoy everything from breakfast to dinner with a magnificent view of the main pool and the vibrant green Ubud jungle. The restaurant also hosts a variety of special events, such as romantic dinners, afternoon tea, and traditional Balinese cultural performances. I’ll cover the restaurant and other amenities in more detail in a future post.

Stunning Views from the Lobby

The guest villas are terraced down the hillside below the reception area. While the views from the rooms themselves are incredible, the highest vantage point is from the front desk and Amateras Restaurant. As soon as you arrive, you’re greeted with this breathtaking panorama of the pool and the sprawling jungle. It’s absolutely spectacular, isn’t it?

Jannata Resort’s Main Pool

Just a short walk down from the front desk is the main swimming pool. We loved the thoughtful touches, like the flowers decorating the steps on the way down. The pool might seem a bit small in photos, but it’s surprisingly spacious in person. Swimming with that incredible jungle view right in front of you is the definitive Ubud experience.

The Path to the Pool Villa

Even the walk to our assigned pool villa after check-in was a magical experience. The landscaping is impeccable, making you feel as if you’re wandering through a dense, private forest filled with beautiful flowers. It was so peaceful. We loved spotting all the exotic plants and vibrant blossoms unique to Southeast Asia. : )

Inside the One-Bedroom Pool Villa at Jannata Resort & Spa

We booked the one-bedroom pool villa, which boasts a generous 110 square meters of space. Its defining features are the incredibly large private pool and a terrace that opens up directly to the lush Ubud jungle.

The In-Villa Private Pool

The private pool is actually larger than it appears in photos. It’s also quite deep, making it perfect for those who enjoy a proper swim. Designed as an infinity pool that looks straight out into the dense jungle, it’s a stunning, picture-perfect private retreat.

We also treated ourselves to a floating breakfast in the pool one morning. It was incredibly romantic and atmospheric. I’ll share more about this unique private dining experience in my next post.

The Villa’s Balcony

Along with the private pool, the villa’s spacious balcony was a major highlight. I absolutely fell in love with this space; gazing out at the endless green view is instant therapy. Waking up to the sound of birds in the morning and falling asleep to the rustle of leaves in the breeze is healing in itself. The view from this balcony is so pure it feels like it cleanses your eyes.

The expansive terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening beer. Take a dip in your private pool and then relax with a cold Bintang—it’s pure paradise. : )

The Bedroom

The villa’s interior is divided into a bedroom and a bathroom. The bedroom itself features a large bed as its centerpiece. When we arrived, we were welcomed with a lovely message and a complimentary rattan bag—a thoughtful and very useful gift for our travels around Bali.

The TV is mounted on the wall for comfortable viewing from bed, and we made good use of the YouTube accessibility. What was particularly impressive, however, was the semi-automatic espresso machine stocked with real coffee beans. I’ve stayed at many hotels and resorts, but this was the first time I’d encountered a proper coffee machine like this in a room. Coffee lovers will be delighted to brew a quality cup to start their day.

Beyond that, the room is equipped with all the necessary amenities: a refrigerator, loungewear, robes, mosquito repellent, insect spray, a safe, and a laundry bag. We felt completely catered for, and for any extra requests, a quick message to the hotel’s WhatsApp account was met with a fast and friendly response. This was great for us, as using a translator on WhatsApp can be much easier than navigating a potential language barrier over the phone.

The Bathroom

Reflecting the villa’s large 110sqm footprint, the bathroom was also incredibly spacious. A large soaking tub is positioned by the window, making it the perfect spot to unwind. We were so touched to find it decorated with flower petals upon check-in.
