Cassia Hotel Sokcho Vista Dinner Buffet Review
Hello everyone! 🖐️ Today, I’m excited to share my experience at Vista Restaurant, located in the newly opened Cassia Hotel Sokcho. This 5-star Banyan Tree-affiliated hotel has quickly become one of the best places to stay in Sokcho. To celebrate a special occasion, my family and I decided to try the much-talked-about dinner buffet. In this review, I’ll cover everything from parking and pricing to menu highlights and useful discounts.
About the Cassia Hotel Vista Dinner Buffet
The Vista Restaurant is on the 4th floor of Tower C in the Cassia Hotel. Reservations are simple—just use Catch Table or call the restaurant directly. If you’re driving, parking is easy with a spacious lot and free validation when you mention it at checkout. For the shortest walk, park near Tower C’s entrance.
Discounts:
- Hotel guests get a ₩50,000 discount coupon and unlimited draft beer vouchers upon check-in.
- The standard price is ₩128,000 per person, but you can save with a 20% Gangwon resident discount or hotel guest offers.
Sample pricing for two adults:
₩256,000 – ₩50,000 (guest discount) = ₩206,000
Buffet Ambience: Spacious and Modern
The dining space is stylish and modern, with lots of natural wood for a cozy yet upscale vibe. Even on a Saturday night, it never felt overcrowded thanks to the spacious layout. For a quieter dinner, weekdays may be your best bet.
Every table comes with complimentary sparkling water, and still water is available too. Sodas are not included and must be purchased separately.
Menu Highlights
The buffet is organized into several stations, so there’s something for everyone. Here’s what you can look forward to:
Main Stations
- Hot Grilled Specials
- Squid roast (Sokcho specialty)
- Shrimp skewers
- LA galbi (beef ribs)
- Lamb shoulder
- Classic Favorites
- Salmon steak
- Beef stew
- Saffron risotto
- Chicken fricassee
The variety isn’t overwhelming, but every dish is well-executed and beautifully presented.
Live Cooking Stations
- Noodles & Broths
- Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and red crab jjamppong, made to order
- Tip: Add steamed scallops from the seafood station to your jjamppong for extra flavor!
- Pizza & Fusion
- Wood-fired pizza (two flavors)
- Seafood nurungji tang (crispy rice soup with seafood and sauces)
Seafood Corner
The seafood corner is the highlight—snow crab, red crab, and steamed scallops. While the quality is excellent, these dishes run out quickly, so you might have to wait for refills, especially earlier in the evening. The best time for crabs is usually after 7:20 PM, when they restock more often.
International Cuisine
- Chinese Dishes: Sweet and sour pork, kung pao chicken, eight-treasure stir-fry, cream shrimp, and more. Don’t miss the abalone porridge—it’s rich and comforting.
- Japanese Selections: Sushi (tuna, salmon), sashimi (tuna, mullet, salmon), and Sokcho-style mulhoe (cold water noodles).
Dessert and Beverages
- Fresh fruits, including surprisingly sweet watermelon (even in November)
- Bite-sized cakes, cookies, and chocolate fondue
- DIY muffin decorating for families
- Pre-packaged ice cream cups (try the Jeju Hallabong flavor!)
- Freshly made coffee, and unlimited draft beer for hotel guests with vouchers (others can purchase beer separately)
Final Thoughts
The Cassia Hotel Vista Dinner Buffet is an excellent choice for family gatherings, special celebrations, or just a relaxed meal with friends. Although the crab station sometimes runs low and desserts could be more varied, the overall food quality and service were impressive. At ₩128,000 per person, it’s a premium buffet—but with discounts, it’s well worth it.
