Why I Recommend Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo for Airport Stays
As someone who frequently travels, I typically find myself at Incheon International Airport four to five times each year. Since I live outside Seoul, early-morning departures or late-night arrivals often require me to stay nearby. My go-to hotel for these occasions is Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo, part of the IHG hotel family. It’s conveniently located just a 20-30 minute drive from the airport and offers excellent access to Songdo’s modern infrastructure. Over the years, I’ve developed a strong preference for this hotel and am excited to share my detailed experience of the rooms, facilities, and breakfast.
Introduction to Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo
For my recent trip to Phuket, Thailand, I checked in the day before my departure. I’ve stayed at this hotel around ten nights altogether over the past few years. The hotel’s easy accessibility from the airport, combined with its prime location in the vibrant heart of Songdo, makes it an ideal choice. It’s also fascinating to see Songdo continually evolving each time I visit.
Hotel Parking
The subway station is just a 30-second walk from the hotel entrance. As we traveled by car from outside Seoul, we used the hotel’s complimentary parking. The lot is spacious, and we’ve never struggled to find a spot. I was delighted to see newly installed EV chargers, making it convenient to recharge my electric vehicle during our stay.
Hotel Lobby & Check-in
Guests arriving by car must first take an elevator from the parking garage to the 1st floor and then switch to another elevator up to the lobby on the 19th floor.
The 19th-floor lobby features stunning views of Songdo’s cityscape, bathed in natural sunlight, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Next to the lobby is Surachae Dining, the hotel’s breakfast restaurant. Additionally, there’s a cozy lounge and a business area perfect for both relaxation and productivity.
Review: Premium King Central Park View Room
We stayed in the Premium King Central Park View room located on the top floor (18th). Higher floors offer enhanced views, so we felt particularly lucky.
Spacious & Comfortable
One immediate impression is how spacious the room feels compared to typical hotels in Seoul. This generous layout ensures guests won’t feel cramped and can enjoy a comfortable stay.
Unlike many modern hotels that skip a proper workspace, this room offers a large, sturdy desk ideal for working comfortably with a laptop. There’s also a cozy seating area and convenient bedside charging ports.
Room service is also available with a variety of reasonably priced options, including breakfast, pizza, and pasta.
Stunning Views
The highlight of staying at Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo is undoubtedly the breathtaking cityscape views overlooking Central Park and Songdo’s urban center. The nighttime city lights are especially captivating. Plus, the windows can be opened for fresh air, a feature I greatly appreciate.
Another great feature is that the windows can be opened. This allows for natural ventilation, keeping the room fresh and pleasant even if you spend a lot of time inside. Personally, I always prefer hotels that offer this option : )
Room Amenities
The room includes essential amenities such as a capsule coffee machine, electric kettle, safe, bathrobes, an iron, and complimentary bottled water.
Bathroom
The bathroom has an elegant marble-style finish, offering a clean, luxurious feel. Toiletries like shampoo and soap are provided by Dove, consistent across Holiday Inn hotels. Disposable items like toothbrushes and toothpaste need to be brought from home or purchased on-site.
The room also includes a bathtub, perfect for a relaxing soak. The bath amenities are from Dove, which seems to be standard across the IHG Holiday Inn brand.
Hotel Facilities at Holiday Inn Incheon Songdo
On the ground floor, guests can enjoy coffee, baked goods, and even craft beer at The Lounge cafe. The prices here are reasonable, making it a great casual spot to relax.
The second floor is dedicated to banquets and weddings, complete with a charming bridal waiting room. Conveniently, there’s an ATM located nearby.
Also located on the second floor is a well-equipped fitness center featuring large windows and great views, adding enjoyment to workouts.
Breakfast at Surachae Dining
Breakfast at Surachae Dining offers a diverse buffet selection of Korean and Western dishes. Fresh eggs, bread, salads, juices, and fruits ensure a fulfilling start to the day.
I particularly enjoyed the made-to-order omelet, fluffy fried rice, and freshly baked rolls—a delicious and satisfying breakfast experience.
