Abbey Road Afternoon Tea Review
Hello! 👋 I’m excited to share my experience enjoying afternoon tea at Abbey Road, a cozy café inside the Sokcho Kensington Hotel Seorak. Living in the metropolitan area, I often sought out afternoon tea, but finding a specialty spot for it in Sokcho wasn’t easy. So when I discovered the “Mood in London” package with afternoon tea included, I booked right away. Here’s my full review of this charming tea time.
About Kensington Hotel Seorak
Kensington Hotel Seorak has an unbeatable location, just a five-minute walk from the entrance to Seoraksan National Park. Surrounded by dramatic mountain views, the hotel is truly immersed in nature—something you need to experience in person to fully appreciate.
Although it’s officially a 4-star hotel, I think its unique vibe could rival many 5-star properties. With its British-inspired style and breathtaking views of Seoraksan from the rooms, it’s a wonderful choice for mountain lovers or anyone in need of a peaceful escape.
When I visited in November, the lobby was already decked out for Christmas with a huge tree—something you don’t see often in Sokcho. If you want to soak up the holiday mood, put this hotel on your list. Don’t miss the Kenny Shop in the lobby for local treats and fun souvenirs, too.
Abbey Road Afternoon Tea: British Vibes in Sokcho
The “Mood in London” package included an afternoon tea at Abbey Road, located on the hotel’s 9th floor. Decorated with rare Beatles memorabilia, this café feels like a slice of Britain in Korea.
Abbey Road has an outdoor terrace, one of the best places in the hotel to enjoy panoramic views of Seoraksan. It was too chilly to sit outside during my November visit, but I could easily imagine how nice it would be in spring or summer with a cup of tea and the mountains as your backdrop.
The Afternoon Tea Experience
Afternoon tea is served with Burleigh ceramics, a famous British brand known for its handcrafted pieces and quality clay. These tea sets keep your drink warm and add a touch of elegance to the table. The brand is even used at luxury hotels like Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul.
If you’re not on a package, the tea set costs 49,900 KRW for two and includes two drinks (except those priced at 9,900 KRW). Service runs from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with last orders at 3:30 PM.
What’s Included?
Your tea arrives on a gorgeous three-tiered tray:
- Bottom: Scones and croissant sandwiches
- Middle & Top: Strawberry pudding, dried persimmon rolls, financiers, and a variety of mini desserts
Start at the bottom with the savory bites, then work your way up to the sweets for a full tea experience.
Menu Highlights:
- Scones: Warm, buttery, and subtly herbed with basil—amazing with strawberry jam.
- Croissant Sandwiches: Crispy layers filled with savory ham for the perfect flavor and crunch.
- Dried Persimmon Rolls: A sweet and salty treat that surprised me as my favorite.
