As a 4-star hotel under the IHG chain, it offers great convenience and exceptional service. Today, I’ll share a detailed review of my stay, including the pros, cons, and tips for future travelers. 😊

I arrived at Okayama Station via the Sanyo Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka. The station has two main exits: East and West. The ANA Crowne Plaza Okayama is conveniently located near the West Exit, making it a practical choice for travelers.

Even if it rains, you won’t have to worry about getting wet, thanks to the covered walkway connecting the station and the hotel. This thoughtful feature is a big plus for those traveling with luggage!

Check-in and Lobby Experience

The hotel’s entrance features a striking red carpet, a signature of the Crowne Plaza brand. Once inside, the front desk is directly visible, with a separate counter for IHG Rewards Club members.

Guests staying in club-level rooms on the 17th and 18th floors can enjoy access to the Club Lounge. Breakfast is served on the 20th floor, offering panoramic city views.

However, one downside is the lack of leisure facilities, such as a gym or spa.

During my stay, I was assigned Room 1512, a premium room on a high floor. Here’s what stood out:

However, one downside is that the windows cannot be opened, which limits ventilation.

Hello! 😊 Today, I’ll share my experience flying Korean Air KE487 Business (Prestige) Class from Incheon to Phu Quoc. The aircraft for this route was an A330-300 featuring Prestige Sleeper Seats. I had the chance to enjoy the lounge, spacious seating, and in-flight dining, making the journey as enjoyable as the destination. If you’re planning a trip to Phu Quoc, I hope this review helps you prepare for a great flight.

Korean Air KE487 Check-In at Incheon Airport

If you’ve booked Prestige (Business) Class, you can check in at the dedicated Counter A, reserved for Prestige passengers and elite members. This exclusive counter ensures a smooth process, free from long lines.

For Economy passengers, Korean Air offers mobile check-in and self-bag-drop services, which are efficient and convenient.

Recently, mobile QR codes have replaced printed tickets in most cases, but I chose a paper ticket this time for keepsake value. Prestige Class passengers also receive access to the KAL Lounge, which I’ll cover in a future post.

Boarding Korean Air KE487: Incheon to Phu Quoc

From the gate, I caught a view of the A330-300 waiting for us. This aircraft features a 2-4-2 seating layout, which is perfect for couples traveling together. However, remember that the aircraft model is subject to change, even close to the departure time.

Prestige Sleeper Seats

The Prestige Sleeper Seats offer a 180-degree recline and a seat length of 198–203 cm, allowing for a fully flatbed experience. While the length is sufficient for a comfortable rest, the width felt slightly narrow, and the overall privacy was less than ideal. For short-haul flights, these seats are excellent, but for medium or long-haul journeys, they may feel less luxurious.

After boarding, the crew and purser warmly greeted us and provided a brief overview of the flight and weather conditions. They mentioned potential turbulence, which we did experience, but it was manageable throughout the flight.

Each seat was equipped with a complimentary water bottle, and welcome drinks with snacks were served shortly after boarding. Korean Air’s signature guava juice was available, though I personally recommend the orange juice for a more refreshing taste. The snack mix pairs wonderfully with beer—highly recommended for a pleasant start to the flight!

Tips for Seat Selection

For this flight, I was seated in 7A and 7B. While these seats were spacious, I found them less convenient due to the location of the monitor, which must be stowed during takeoff and landing. For better views, choose seats on the right-hand side (G/H), where you can enjoy beautiful sunset views while flying to Phu Quoc.

For the main course, I chose the Mustard Sauce Beef Steak (Medium). The steak was well-cooked, though the texture could have been better. Overall, it was satisfying for in-flight dining, and the mashed potatoes and side vegetables were delicious.

I also tried the Spicy Bulgogi Rice Wrap, which was decent but not extraordinary. However, the vegetables were fresh, and the accompanying soup added a comforting touch.

The meal concluded with Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream and a selection of fruits (blueberries, watermelon, pineapple). The fruit was sweet and refreshing, and coffee or tea was available upon request.

Post-Meal Relaxation and Landing

After the meal, I took a moment to freshen up in the restroom, which was well-stocked with amenities like toothbrushes, mouthwash, razors, shaving cream, and lotion.

The cabin lights were dimmed to create a restful environment. I relaxed by watching a movie and enjoying the full-flatbed seat. About an hour before landing, the crew served a final round of drinks.

We landed at Phu Quoc Airport at 11 PM local time (1 AM KST). The small airport allowed for a quick and smooth disembarkation.
