Review: Banyan Tree Shanghai On The Bund Hotel

Hello🖐️ Today I’m going to do a detailed review of the Banyan Tree Shanghai On The Bund hotel. I’ve booked to visit this hotel on my trip to Shanghai in April, and as most of you know, Banyan Tree is a fairly luxury hotel brand. This hotel in particular is known for its excellent location and the view of the Eastern Pearl, so if you’re planning a trip to Shanghai or looking for a hotel, this post will be of interest to you : )

About Banyan Tree Shanghai on the Bund

Banyan Tree Shanghai On The Bund is located in Shanghai’s iconic Bund neighborhood and is designed to be a luxury urban resort hotel. I’ve been to the Banyan Tree hotel in Seoul many times, and as you may know, it has the charm of being in a great location in the city center, but still feeling like a resort 👍 I think that’s the beauty of the Banyan Tree brand : )

Banyan Tree on the Bund in Shanghai is the epitome of the Banyan Tree brand, with its elegant and romantic ambiance, understated luxury, quality facilities, and warm Asian hospitality. It’s also the first hotel in Shanghai to offer river views from every room, and most of the room names emphasize the view, such as Riverside or Bund, and the price varies depending on which view you get.

Banyan Tree Shanghai on the Bund Room

The hotel has a total of 130 rooms. The standout is the most basic room, the Riverside Retreat 60 sqm, which is about the size of a suite in a typical hotel👍👍 For reference, the junior suite at the Grand InterContinental Parnas Hotel in Samsum-dong, Seoul is 60 sqm. If you book a Romantic Pool room, like Banyan Tree’s signature, you’ll have a great view from the pool in your room.

The hotel’s rooms are categorized by floor, view, and size. The standard rooms are quite large, so unless you’re staying in a suite, you’ll probably want to choose your room based on the view. If you want a good view, you can book a Panorama Riverside or a room with a view of the Bund, and if you book a room with a view of the Bund, you’ll get a view of the Oriental Pearl.

The hotel also offers a variety of suites in addition to standard rooms, so if you want a more spacious room, you can book a suite such as Riverside Suite, Bund Suite, or Grand Bund Suite for a more comfortable and relaxing stay. Many of the suites have great views, so if you want to make memories on a special occasion, we recommend a suite 😊.

Banyan Tree Shanghai on the Bund Facilities

The hotel features several dining options. Oceans western restaurant offers culinary experiences from around the world, while Banyan Lounge serves afternoon tea, teas and signature cocktails, and the TOP rooftop bar offers stunning night views of Shanghai.

The hotel has an indoor pool and three relaxation pools, so don’t forget to pack your swimsuit. There’s also a fitness center to keep you fit while traveling.

Speaking of Banyan Tree, the spa is also quite famous! The spa is specially based on the traditional Chinese Five Elements healing philosophy and offers a wide range of programs using locally grown natural herbs and Zen elements. It also uses a different signature essential oil scent every day to satisfy the five senses of sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch, and is said to offer complete relaxation and healing through the delicate hands of expert therapists👍.
