ANA Crowne Plaza Kanazawa Premium Room Review

A Stay at ANA Crowne Plaza Kanazawa Premium Room

Hello fellow travelers! 🖐️ Today I’m going to share my experience of staying at the ANA Crowne Plaza Kanazawa, an IHG hotel that offers both convenience and comfort. Since it’s located right in front of Kanazawa Station, accessibility is excellent. Plus, the rooms are spacious compared to many other hotels in Japan, making it an excellent choice for your trip to Kanazawa. If you’re planning to visit, read on for all the details!

Arriving at Kanazawa Station

After a long day of traveling, I arrived in Kanazawa by Shinkansen in the evening. As soon as I entered the station, I noticed numerous figurines of Hyakumansan (ひゃくまんさん), a mascot representing Ishikawa Prefecture. The character is shaped like a traditional Japanese tumbler doll and is covered in gold leaf – fitting for Kanazawa, a city famous for its gold craftsmanship.

Another fun discovery at the station was a vending machine selling regional specialties from the Hokuriku area (Ishikawa, Toyama and Fukui prefectures). Japan is known for its unique vending machines, and this one definitely caught my attention!

As you step out of Kanazawa Station, you’ll see the Tsuzumi-mon Gate (鼓門) – a massive torii-style structure that serves as the station’s iconic landmark. It’s a must-visit photo spot for anyone coming to Kanazawa! At night, the gate is beautifully illuminated, creating a stunning visual experience.

I’ve been to many train stations in Japan, but Kanazawa Station stands out for its unique design and cultural symbolism. If you visit, be sure to take some time to explore and take some pictures!

About ANA Crowne Plaza Kanazawa

One of the best things about the ANA Crowne Plaza Kanazawa is its prime location – it is literally steps away from Kanazawa Station. If you’re looking for convenience, this hotel is hard to beat!

Unlike typical Japanese business hotels, this hotel has a spacious lobby with high ceilings, creating a luxurious and elegant atmosphere. Because it’s part of the IHG brand, it has the classic and sophisticated design you’d expect from an ANA Crowne Plaza.

The hotel is a 19-story building with guest rooms on floors 6 through 18. The front desk is located on the first floor, while the dining and banquet rooms are located on floors 2-5 and 19. Given its status as a 4-star hotel, it’s a popular venue for weddings and events.

Since I booked through the IHG website and have Diamond Ambassador status, I was upgraded to a Premium Room on the top floor (18th floor). The hotel is a bit older, but the corridors and elevators have been recently renovated, so it feels modern and clean.

Inside the Premium Room

Here’s a look at my upgraded Premium Room on the 18th floor! Compared to the standard rooms, this one was much more spacious. It featured:

  • A large round desk, perfect for getting some work done
  • A comfortable sofa
  • Two single beds
  • Two large windows, providing great views and an open, airy feel

Despite the age of the hotel, the room was well maintained and renovated, making for a pleasant and comfortable stay. I only stayed one night and honestly, I wished I could’ve stayed longer because of how nice the room was!

ANA Crowne Plaza Kanazawa Sleep Advantage Amenities

One thing I appreciate about the ANA Crowne Plaza Kanazawa is their Sleep Advantage program. The room came with:

  • A warming eye mask for relaxation
  • Special tea to help you sleep
  • Bath salts for a soothing nighttime bath

These little details really make a difference in ensuring a restful stay!

Special Perks: Kaga Bocha Tea Gift

As an IHG Diamond member, I received a special gift at check-in – Kaga Bocha (加賀棒茶), a regional specialty tea from Kanazawa. Unlike regular roasted hojicha, Kaga Bocha is made with tea stems rather than leaves, giving it a cleaner and smoother flavor. The packaging even features Hyakumansan, making it a charming local souvenir!

Spacious Bathroom & Stunning Night Views

The bathroom was surprisingly large and featured

  • A separate vanity area
  • A tub and shower area
  • Plenty of room to move around comfortably

Since my room was on the 18th floor, the view was fantastic – a panoramic cityscape stretching far into the distance. At night, the city lights created a beautifully twinkling skyline that made for a perfect end to the day. If you’re staying at the ANA Crowne Plaza Kanazawa, I highly recommend requesting a room on a higher floor for the best view!

Breakfast & Dining Options

I usually skip breakfast, but something about hotel buffets always convinces me otherwise! 😆 I made sure to wake up early and check it out, but I’ll have a detailed review of the breakfast experience in my next post, so stay tuned!
