Ibis Ambassador Hotel Suwon Stay Review | Superior Double Room

Hello. Today, I’d like to share my review of my stay in the Superior Double Room at the Ibis Ambassador Hotel in Suwon, including parking information. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone planning to stay in Suwon. On the day of check-in, we also booked the Le Jardin Dinner Buffet located on the second floor, so we enjoyed both dinner and our stay at the hotel. The dinner buffet was excellent, and the overall stay was very comfortable. If you’re considering a trip to Suwon, I highly recommend staying here. Let me tell you more in detail.

About Ibis Ambassador Hotel Suwon

The Suwon Ibis Ambassador Hotel is conveniently located, whether you’re arriving by public transportation or car. It’s just a two-minute walk from Suwon City Hall Station on the Suin–Bundang Line, and parking is easy with a garage that extends down to the sixth floor, offering space for about 400 cars.
The hotel has a total of 215 rooms and was recently renovated in 2021, so the facilities are clean and well-maintained. There’s also a Starbucks Reserve on the ground floor and plenty of shops nearby, making the location even more convenient.

Ibis hotels are part of the global hotel chain Accor, so if you book through their official website or app, you can earn points and receive membership benefits👍.

By the way, the Accor ALL card has just been released in Korea, and although the annual fee is a bit expensive, it offers a lot of benefits, so if you use Accor hotels a lot, you might want to consider getting it. You’ll get Accor Gold status when you get the card, which entitles you to room upgrades, extended checkout, welcome drinks, and more when available.

Restaurants and banquet facilities are located on the lower floors, while guest rooms are located on the upper floors, from the 8th to the 12th floor. The basement level is home to a coin-operated laundry and other facilities such as a hot tub and gym.

The elevators were well secured, requiring you to tag your room key. There are also two elevators dedicated to the rooms, so it’s a quick ride.

I stayed in Room 1022 on the 10th floor, and as soon as I got off the elevator, I was impressed by the large, spacious hallway leading to my room. I really liked how open and wide the hallway felt.

Superior Double Room at Ibis Ambassador Hotel Suwon

The room was recently remodeled and was very clean and comfortable👍 Especially, the floor was not carpeted, so it was dust-free and convenient to use. The space was about 20m2, which is about 6 pyeong and not too big for two adults.

I noticed that many business travelers stay at the Ibis Ambassador Suwon. My room had a large desk and a comfortable chair, which made it easy to work on my laptop. The desk also offered plenty of power outlets, along with wired LAN and USB charging ports.

There was also a small sofa and table next to the desk, which provided a comfortable place to relax and have a beer while watching TV.

I’m a big fan of room ventilation, and it was nice to be able to open the window to get some natural airflow.

There is no capsule coffee machine in the room, but Maxim coffee mix, brown rice green tea, Lipton tea, an electric kettle, shower robe, multi-use slippers, and a laundry bag are provided to make your stay comfortable.

I especially liked the bathroom because it was very clean and comfortable to use. The hotel provides only hand soap, shampoo, and body soap as amenities, so I recommend bringing your own toothbrush and toothpaste. The shampoo comes in a press-and-squeeze container, which makes it hard to contaminate, so it feels safe to use even after multiple uses.

About Hotel Breakfast

As I mentioned earlier, I didn’t eat breakfast, but I had made a reservation for Le Jardin Dinner the night before, and upon check-in, they gave me a discount voucher for breakfast, which reduced the regular price of 45,000 won to 27,500 won. We didn’t eat breakfast because we had eaten too much the day before, but the hotel has quite good reviews for breakfast, such as “breakfast mecca” and “best breakfast in Korea,” so if you’re staying overnight, I think you’ll be quite happy with the discounted price.

Hotel Amenities and Parking

The hotel provides a public bath, coin laundry, and a gym on the basement level. While some guests might feel disappointed by the lack of a separate bathtub in the room, they can relax and refresh themselves in the hot spring bath. You can also wash your clothes using the coin laundry facility, making it easy and convenient to stay for an extended period.

The hotel is a detached building with parking facilities for about 400 cars up to the 6th basement floor, so parking was quite convenient and good👍 There is also a fast electric car charging facility operated by ChargeBee on the 6th basement floor, so those who use electric or hybrid cars can park without worrying about charging.

Hotel Review

I recently revisited the Ibis Ambassador Suwon Hotel after its remodel, and I could see that it had been upgraded nicely compared to before. The remodel made the rooms, restaurants, and other areas much cleaner and more comfortable, so I enjoyed a very pleasant stay with well-equipped facilities. If you’re planning a trip to Suwon, I highly recommend staying at the Ibis Ambassador Hotel. The dinner buffet is also delicious, so be sure to give it a try. 😀
